Today, I tried borrowing iPads so year 12 students could plan and create revision videos. In a metacognitive fashion, I asked students to Plan, Monitor and Evaluate. The planning and monitoring went well. However, I don't think they evaluated their learning very effectively so the impact of the videos was limited. Next time, students will have to create questions for the class to answer whilst watching the revision videos - I found active listening was needed, not just a quick evaluation of the quality of their classmates' videos.
